Yoga for Low Back Health 4 Week Series

  • Have you experienced low back pain?

  • Do you want tools to offset low back stress, so that you can continue to do the things you love?

In this four week series we will explore how Yoga can help support low back health through physical practices (asana), as well as mindfulness techniques to increase body awareness. We will discuss anatomy, philosophy, and move the body mindfully together.

You will come away with tools you can use in your everyday life to help keep you strong and centered, so that you can continue to participate in the active lifestyle you love.

This class is for individuals who are able to participate in a gentle yoga class and have chronic low back pain, or are interested in preventing low back pain.

Cost of this 4 week series is $85 if paid by February 14th or $99 afterwards.

I know intimately the importance of a healthy low back. In 2009 I sustained a stress fracture in my lower spine which, in turn, led to a condition called Spondylolisthesis. Through the practices of Yoga I have been able to not only manage physical pain and regain mobility, but also change the trajectory of my life. I am deeply passionate about sharing the power of Yoga for healing in a light-hearted, sincere, and accessible manner.

Special Kirtan for Everyone at Temple Apalala

Special Kirtan for Everyone at Temple Apalala

There's a lot to sing here. There's a lot to sing together.

This is about being together. Bringing together. This is about bhakti (devotion), shivshakti (masculine and feminine, consciousness and energy), healing and community.

As always, we'll make Dal and Rice. You bring what you love or can if you'd like. We'll have label materials here.

There's no charge. Donations are welcome.

Kids are welcome with your elegant connection and supervision.

We will likely be outside in the yard with shade. Inside is available if it rains.

The vision that came through so strong:

5 Kirtan Leaders in collaboration.

5 Different Kirtans in each of our spaces.

5 is the number of change.

Everyone who comes having an opportunity to lead a chant, totally optional. Bring your shakers and instruments. All you need is your breath, your voice, your curiosity.

June 17th is the first of the 5. Father's Day in the U.S. and now that I look at it, 6/17 is 14 which is 5... if you're into that kind of thing.

Divine Masculine. I don't have a great dad backstory but I wouldn't be doing what I do without the one I had and I know great Dads, great men. And I honor the divine masculine in all of us and in the universe.

So let's get together and sing true love-beyond-love.

Let's open not just our hearts but our whole core, our entire vibrant selves in connection with all that is and see what we find inside ourselves and in connection with each other.

What can singing change?

Come sing.

Then ask.

Or just Feel.

And Sing some more.

We love you and we're all one. Come sing it. Come feel it. Come create it with us.

Confirmed kirtan leaders (and my experience of their styles):
Davida Singh (Kundalini Rising and Deep Flow)
Luz Helena Florez (Shakti Bliss Ride)
Tyleena Trotter Winslow (Soul Shaking Singing Out)
Sarah Grumbling (Take me there, Sister! Pure Love.)
Jenn Noble Yoga (Radiant, Pure Devotion in Voice)

Special Guests:
Sean Frenette

Bhagavan Das Kirtan!

Please join us for an ecstatic night of Kirtan with Bhagavan Das with support vocals from Jenn Noble and Kavita Macmillon!

Bhagavan Das is a bhakti yogi, a shakta tantra adept, and kirtan singer. As a young man he was one of the first Western initiates/devotees of the late Hindu holy man Neem Karoli Baba, as well as the first American to meet Kalu Rinpoche of the Shangpa Kargyupas lineage. He has received Vajra Yogini initiation from His Holiness the Sixteenth Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje of the Karma Kagyu lineage and Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, the 11th Trungpa Tulku. During the almost seven years he spent as a wandering ascetic in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka he received numerous initiations and teachings from living saints and sages including A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada,[2] Swami Chaitanya Prakashananda Tirtha, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Sri Anandamoyi Ma, and Tarthang Tulku of the Dudjom Rinpoche lineage.
In 1972 in California he married his girlfriend, Bhavani, who was expecting their child; subsequently their daughter, Soma, was born in New York.[3] In 1974 in Berkeley, California, he met Usha, who eventually became his common-law wife and bore him a son, Mikyo, and a daughter, Lalita.

Bhagavan Das guided spiritual teacher Ram Dass, at the time known as Dr. Richard Alpert, throughout India, eventually introducing him to Neem Karoli Baba.

Bhagavan Das gained fame after being featured in Ram Dass' book Be Here Now, which described Bhagavan Das' role in his spiritual journeys in India. Bhagavan Das travels widely throughout the world as a performer of traditional and non-traditional Indian bhajans and kirtans, and is the author of an autobiography, It's Here Now (Are You?).

Honoring the Cycles of Life: A New Years Eve Yoga Practice

**SPECIAL EVENT IN MAINE!**

2017 has been quite the year. In Yoga, and many other wisdom traditions, honoring the cycles of life is paramount to experiencing a fulfilling existence on this planet. It is said that honoring endings is of most importance so that we can let go of the things that don't serve us anymore. Sometimes this is easier said than done. Luckily we have practices like Yoga to help us through.

Join Jenn for an all levels Yoga class where we will honor the closing of 2017, the endings that it brings and the start of a new year. This class will include an accessible Vinyasa style practice, guided meditation and mantra.
